After you start the amp meter should show a high charge level for about 3-5 minutes. High as in 20-35 amps on the meter. Then as the battery recovers from the initial start up discharge the rate should drop down fairly quick (assuming the battey in in good condition) back to near center. On my B1 its back to center after about a 1-1/2 miles on the road. Since the ampmeter is never showing a charge it's either the regulator or generator, or it's hooked up wrong.My exerience is usually the generator (needs brushes or overhaul). I been driving mopar stuff of this vintage for over 30 years and have seen only one bad regulator, 3 bad generators however. What is the history of the history of the generator and regulator ?
