Pilotshaft bearing hole question: 318/slant-6

I have never bothered to have a auto-tranny eng. modified for a manual tranny as I've always kept auto-tranny crankshaft engines mated to/auto-trannies and manual crankshaft engines mated to/manual trannies.
My question is, what should I expect to pay a automotive machine shop to machine the bearing hole for a pilotshaft in a crankshaft w/o a pilotshaft bearing hole if I take it out myself ? Also, would there ever be a problem with using this modified crank with a auto-tranny again ? Thanks
