My Carryall windshield keeps cracking. The frame must be bent a little bit. The first pane cracked overnight. The last pane lasted a week or so before spontaneously cracking. On the second try, the guy at the glass shop did not put tape all the way around it so it would have a little room to move. Should I forget the tape all together and just run a bead of silicone or eurethane? Is there a stronger grade of glass available?
If it cracks spontaneously laying on the workbech, it won't last long at all bouncing around on the truck. It is subject to a lot of flex if the driver is not very careful oppening and closing the windshield.
Also, does anybody have a source for 10 32, slotted, countersunk machine screws to put the windshield back together. I managed to rob some out of Dad's Model A parts, but I need 6 more.
