I'm with Chewie on this one Jonas, you need more gears if you're going to run a diesel behind a Power Wagon, even if you have 4.89's. Problem is the NV4500's are very expensive by the time you buy the clutch & bellhousing.
I bet in a few years the NV4500's are going to be readily available for cheap but as it stands, you can easily spend $2500 on the clutch, clutch housing, bellhousing & tranny.
I still think a Getrag is a good option for that conversion. It's short, light, has a 20% overdrive, readily available because people are pulling them out of their daily driver first gen Cummins trucks & throwing them away and they aren't anywhere as bad as people make them out to be.
I don't think you could wreck one behind a Cummins 4BT unless you did some serious modifications to the engine.
It's certainly a lot stronger transmission than a Spicer 4 speed.
I think people would pay $5000 if you could put a kit like that together & stood behind the components...I would anyway!
