Always drop the hook down though a stake pocket & back up on the inside of the rail (dont bend the rail or scratch the paint) so gravity holds the hook on thr rail. If the chain does come loose chances are the hook won`t fall off. Also keep your chains (or straps) pulling against each other, but short enough that front or rear will prevent the vehicle from rolling off. Using the parking brake is hard on the mechanism also. As far as I know car haulers still tie down all 4 corners from the frame, but they are winched down real good. I wish my hoe hadn`t been chained so good, the backhoe may have fell off & left the truck & trailer on their wheels haha. Regards, GB
