There were 2 locations that were used. The first location was directly under the drivers floor board. There was a bracket that was used to attach the vacuum booster unit. The problem with this location was that if you also ordered the optional rear PTO tailshaft, the booster was in the way. Thus, the alternate location behind the cab. Both installations were on the left frame rail. The booster unit itself was made by Midland Steel Products of Owasso, Michigan. Later this company changed names to Midland Brake, Inc. It was eventually bought out by another company and is now apparently part of the Haldex group of companies. As the one ton Power-Wagon evolved into the WM300 with the 251 engine, the standard mounting location became behind the cab. All late model WM300's that I have seen with factory mounted boosters used this location. The 1968 WM 300's and the 1967 WM300's that were produced with the dual circuit master cylinder used two of these booster units when the option was specified. Check out the pictures on my web page (Hosted by my good friend Phil Street of t137.com)for some pictures of some boosters and frame rail mounts. Look at the "Brake Booster" page and the "Blue Ridge Junk Yard" page. If you have questions that I can assist with, please let me know.
