in the early 70's my late friend Alan Foster
bought Corvette Gran Sport # 3 (meacom racing team car) and wrote a letter to Duntov asking some questions regarding the sources of components used in building the car, one of which being the ball joints as they were worn. Duntov wrote Alan a very detailed letter detailing the Gran Sport project and the last sentence on the letter was "Alan regards the ball joints get a block of 4140 and find a good machinist thats how i built mine"
letter was signed Zora
ps at that time no one had a clue as to what the car would be worth 20-30 years later
old race cars had no value
