Hmm..Honestly, I would buy Dan Shockley's Cummins he is looking to sell. I would buy it provided that it has a Dana 60 up front and a 205 Case. That truck is super sharp, and since it would be a summer time only work truck, it would last forever, expecially with that few miles on it.
Or Option B, I would spend $5000 on a Cummins Truck Like the one I just bought (and looovvviinnn it!!!!!) Then spend $3000 on a nice 1971 W-200 as a toy, then the last $2000 would buy me a '88-93 W-250 or W-350 4X4 Gasser with snow plow. I plan to buy a gas fuel injected Dodge of this era to use as a winter work beater and keep the Cummins truck for spring-summer-early fall work.
Or...Buy a 1st generation Cummins truck for $5000, and spend $4000 Converting to NV5600 then the other grand for things like good exhaust, Borgesen steering shaft etc.
Or buy a nice 1971 W-200 with no engine or trans, and put a Cummins and a NV5600 in it.
The possibilities are endless!
