1. They produced around 21,000 WC-56 models and most are history.
2. Your other questions are very hard to answer because their are
too many variables on what you mean by "mint" condition and who plans
to do the restoration. (you or somebody who is very experienced in
this field.)
If "mint" means as close to the original specifications as possible, expect
to invest about $25,000 to $35,000 if you do it yourself. Expect
55,000 to 65,000 if you have a specialist do it. These values fluctuate
depending on the condition of the truck you start out with. At this point,
most of the better non-restored examples have already been taken. Also expect
to utilize reproduction parts such as top bows, map box and table, tailgate,
seats, wiring harness, and side curtains. If you do purchase one, put Vintage
Power Wagons on your list for parts. They helped me tremendously in the
restoration of my WC-57. Don't plan on making any money restoring one to
original specifications and selling. You won't for at least a while. The point
is you really got to want one for its historical value, rarity and the fact it
makes you happy! That's about all I can say. Good luck and if you buy one be
sure and have alot of space, good lifting capabilities, and alot of patience and money!
