i think the command car is the best of the dodge military vehicles. with the restoration coming to a close - id say it is worth all the money and time spent. i stopped keeping track (not adding up but keeping the receipts) because i cant justify the amt spent to anyone but me. ill never sell it. things that i have learned. all parts can be found or made. consider all disc conversion. do a 4.89 gear set. and most importantly do what you need to drive it. i added the 489s used all stainless fuel lines and brake lines. i had a nos fuel tank renewed, i found all nos gages and had a wiring harness built with extra circuits for turn signals, license plate light in rear. rear trunk light, electric fuel pump backup and cig lighter adaptor in glove box for mobile phone. i aslo got new prodution non directional tires from galaxy. its your truck and i would build it to drive it. the guys with the trailer queens dont seem to have as much fun as guys like winget and i do with the trucks. my truck will run better than those museum rigs. to convince yourself that a wc-56 is the right truck-- go for a ride in one. there is nothing at any price that is as much fun to be in. have fun.
