It is the only so-called epoxy "weld" product I have
tried which really sets up hard and strong. They make
several products in that line which are filled epoxies.
There's one called "super-mend" which is filled with a
white powder but it dries slowly and runs out of vertical
areas. I have also used the glass-filled polyester putty
but it did not hold up well.
I'm quite satisfied with the performance of the
"super-weld" It really can be machined and tapped and it
sticks well to a variety of surfaces. I have used left-overs
to mold little test bars which are quite stiff and strong. The
aluminum filler material appears to be rather coarse, not a
fine powder like is used in paint.
What I don't know is it will hold up over time. The windshield
frame should be a good test because it is fairly thin and is
exposed to sunlight and rain (though it is painted).
I don't claim to have run an exhaustive test on metal-filled
epoxies. I have just tried various things and this one has
worked well.
