Interesting question...

I think that a tire diameter too much larger than stock would start to be a bit too much for the stock brakes. You could always upgrade to disks, I suppose. I have seen an M-37 converted to run very large diameter tractor tires, obviously for off road use only. My guess is that the diffs and then the transfer case would complain next, but that's just a guess. The usual answer for big tires is Buckshot Mudders, I have seen many on Power Wagons, they are very nice tires, are known for long wear, but are not the best in actual mud (despite the name) from what I have seen. They come as big as you want.

Stockton Wheel can set you up with rims for whatever you want to run, the know about PW bolt patterns and setback there. Making springs with a bit more curve to clear the fenders would be no problem for a decent spring shop.

Having siad this, I have been very impressed with the performance of the NDTs off road. They do very well even without being aired down (putting the air back in is a big chore, belive me).

Let us know what you do and how it works out.
