Just had the similar problem, the relief port is the super tiny one in the front, the supply is the larger one in the rear. The book said both must be free of obstruction (the piston & Seals), You need a REALLY thin wire to check the front one, If you have blockage in either one (and the push rod is backed completly off) your supposed to take it apart and add a shim. Mine turned out to be CLOGGED by a grain of something, ran a stiff piece of single copper wire (electrical stuff) in and out a couple of times, Backed the adjustment rod out till it just touched the piston (manual said 7/16 play I think) Anyway with it just touching the back of the piston, drove her and it was BLISS. I towed my US 57mm AT gun, which makes for a combined weigth of around 11000, lbs. the new 4 disc system I installed worked like a charm with the original master cylinder. Now the damn thing wants piston rings installed, it never ends. Good luck. WAW
