I was driving past a farm today and I saw what appeared to be a Power Wagon sitting out in the field. I stopped and asked if I could go look at it and the woman told me to go ahead. Leaving my wife grumbling in the car, I went to get a better look. It looks to be a early 50's 1-ton civilian model (no cab tags are present). Body wise it has a cab and both doors and front fenders and hood. None of them are useable (too far gone but maybe the hood could be used). It does still have the complete engine (flathead 6) and transmission and transfer case. The steering box is still there. The radiator looks useable???? It has a perfect battery tray. No winch. The front axle assy. is laying about 20 yards from the truck intact with wheels on it. The rear axle assy. is missing and most of it is laying around the cab. She told me that it has been laying in the field for (10) years and was brought there "not running" on a flatbed. Her husband has passed away and her son is willing to "unload it".
It is sitting down in the dirt surrounded by cows and weeds.
Is it worth rescuing for parts or should I just let it go?
Opinions please!!!!
