Martin, it may not harm your own computer or damage your own files, but it can use your e-mail address files as a host to harm the rest of us. It is sort of like bragging that you don't use condoms at a rock concert in Thailand....not too good. Do us all a favor and get some protection.
Not ragging on you, it was good of you to tell us, but it really is the reason that a lot of these things get spread. If everyone had a firewall and virus protection they would soon be a thing of the past.
By the way, Mike is correct, if you don't have a virus protection and/or a firewall, you also do not have the ability to know if you are infected or not. Last night I found 87 different attempts to install spyware on my computer. Those hacks will not show up with an anti-virus system, only with a firewall. If you buy on-line (e-Bay, use AmEx or any credit card, on-line bank, etc.) EVERY keystroke has been recorded by someone who has hacked into your files. Isn't nice to know that your bank account, SS number and ATM passwords are floating around out there in cyberspace (or Nigerian Cyberspace at that!!!)????
