Everyone who is hooked up to the internet should have some form of firewall!!!!! Do a search for "zone alarm" or go to zonelabs.com, and download the free version of their firewall. It does not scan for viruses, but does prevent all sorts of other unauthorized access to your computer. They have an improved/ updated version that you may want to try free for a month as well.
Go to trendmicro.com and do a free virus scan with "Housecall". The first time I used this, it found 11 things that Norton didn't. You can also get "Ad-aware" and "spybot search and destroy" as free downloads to get rid of spyware that may be on your computer. Good Luck J.V.L.
