I got to thinking the other day....I know it's scary. I was wondering if it would be advisable to use automatic transmission oil in the manual transmission and transfer case of a Power Wagon. Mine is a '49 with a non-syncro tranny and the usual NP200 (?) transfer case.
My '90 F150 uses ATF in its manual 5-speed tranny and it has worked fine for 200,000 miles, and I think other vehicles do too, so so why not an older vehicle?
It seems like using ATF would make shifting a bit easier on those cold mornings, and would slightly improve overall driveline efficiency.
What do you think?
