It required a square notch to be stamped in the radiator mounting cross-member as it interfers with the bottom of the timing chain cover. The older universal V-8 bellhousing can be used I suspect but the 1" longer pilot shaft will need to be added to the NP420 or find a NP420 that already has the longer shaft from a V-8 truck. There are some pics on this site(somewhere)showing either a post 68 WM300 or M-601 with the slt-6.
