I read stuff on this forum all the time about going to NAPA for this, or Pep Boys for that, whatever. That's Lucas here - it's the local auto electrical supplier so when something does go wrong you just bin it and buy another - not so easy if you have a British built car in the US I know, but that's like finding a US Dodge part here, not a local store job at all.

Did US quaility of this sort of product not take a dive in the strike-ridden 60s and 70s then?
