I prefer the Buckshot Radial mudders I run on two trucks, (My 52 PW and my 71 W300) The michelins are GREAT in sand and rock, but they are very lacking in deep snow or mud..mainly I think, because the flathead six can't spin them fast enough to keep them clean. Whereas the Buckshot (only 36-37" tall) seem to do much better with the low RPM and low HP. Basically, I have resigned to using the Michelins only in summertime for sand areas or very rocky terrain. In fact, they will not go to Moab again as with that type of rock, I actually broke the perfect traction barrier and ended up with broken axles & parts...I will stick to the Buckshots!! I have also discovered the NATO type tread (way updated from WW2 tread) on Bias ply tires of the 11.00-16 size are EXCELLENT here in the snow and ice of southern Idaho! I only have four of them but I recommend them highly if you NEED to get through!! (Especially if you chain them up!)
