In Nov., I traded in my 2001, 2500 Ram Diesel for a new 2004 Ram 2500. My old truck never gave me any trouble and always averaged about 16-18mpg pulling a heavy trailer in city stop and go driving. My new 2500 has the high output Cummins. I just took it on a 700 mile road trip . It got 19.8 average mpg, running at a steady 75-80mph. I was not towing a trailer on this trip. No question about it, those Cummins engines are great.
