another generator quest.

i've just aquired a 6 volt gen. with a built in hyd. pump for power steering ( i'm told it came off a 50's? plymouth). my question is that since it probably needs rebuilding can it be converted to 12 volts? i want to put it on my 46 wdx to run a snow plow. it's already been converted over to 12volts. it would eliminate the seperate hyd. pump and resivoir and free up engine compartment space with the v8.any ideas? thanks, jim.
