I can tell you what a lot less Dodge can do. '67 D100 Town Wagon, 318 polyshpere ['fathead'w/rippled valve covers], NP 435, 8 3/4 rear. Elliot front straight axle. Pulling 24 foot Prowler, loaded with my dredges, pumps, grizzlies, spare motors, spare steel, 4400 watt gen. on roof rack w/ 8 gas cans, 4 water, 6 full tool boxes, all the pots and pans and every danged thing you can think of, just in case. 'Bout 14,500 total lbs. All over the western states for 4 years, then it was losing power a little on the hills. Pulled the heads and found a pie shaped piece about the size of your pinkie fingernail mising out of 5 exhaust valves!! Great motor, great trannie, great rear end.
Use electric brakes on trailer & no problems at all. If it's a 318 poly be sure and find a Carter BBD or better 2 barrel, as the stromberg really stinks. Pretty easy to get up to 700 hp out of that motor $$$$ Hydraulic clutch especially slave cylinder can be a minor problem, but good overall. Great truck there, buddy, jump on it!
