Plastic media works ok but doesn't remove the rust as well as the stuff we use in my father's sandblasting business. The stuff we use is Vitrogrit. Basically it recycled glass that is crushed and screened to diffrent gritsand kiln dried (i.e. You can get it in grits from #16-30 Grit to #150 grit, which feels like talcum powder). The advantage of the Vitrogrit is that when it hits the surface to be blasted it shatters, causing no heat: therefore no warpage. We use the Vitrogrit on Aluminum fame works for a promotional display co Here in Portland, Or. I have used it a lot on my Power Wagon and it works really well. It comes out of Seattle and I can get you the info on it if your interested.
