It needs to be inserted into the slot in the outer edge of the frame. Look at it and it will become obvious. I needed to use a putty knif to get it fully into the slot and locked in. Once in mine has not moved at all. Do not expect a fully weather proof seal with the body when your done. It just does not happen. If you are NOT using the one from VPW that is a contineous circle it will be difficult to get the cornes to stay in place. I have a 10' piece of the molding that I bought and it really does not go into the corners very well.
