Seat Bottom - Spring or Cushion?

I have two seat bottoms available for my PW. One has the wood board with a 7 inch piece of padding on it out of my 1957. The padding needs to be repaired on the drivers side. My 1952 parts truck has the steel framed bottom with springs and burlap cover. The springs are not broken and it feels fine when I sit on it.

I am leaning towards using the one with the springs. Which seat is the better one to use?? Advantages/Disadvantages?
