driving up bids. No one knows there is a bidder waiting in the wings till the last few seconds. If I were to place a bid early in a auction, then someone else may see a need to bid higher than me. And so it goes driving up the price. But, if you dont make your snipe bid high enough, you will loose to someone with a proxy bid higher than you. I use Esnipe for every bid I place on Ebay. Once I make my bid to esnipe, I can go away and forget it. It will be handled without me even being near a computer. And if you so choose, up to the last 5 minutes of an auction, you can cancell your esnipe bid since it was never sent to Ebay till the
buffer seconds you set.
