Mechanical vs. Electrical Fuel Pump Opinions

'48 B-1-PW. I'm soliciting opinions on whether to go back to the old mechanical fuel pump (which I would have to buy) or continue using a electrical fuel pump (which currently does not work). I will be replacing the entire fuel system with new fuel lines, renu'd gas tank, ect. I will also be converting the truck to 12V from the original 6v during the restoration project. I should mention that the truck is exclusively offroad at 4,000' in the Sierra Mountains.

What is everybodys opinion on Mechanical vs. Electrical?
