Great stories and advice from all you guys but wind chill is only a device to figure the rate of cooling.
If it is -10 and windy, your truck will not be at -50. It will only get from running temp to -10 that much faster. A year or two ago the wind chill chart was proven to be wrong as a rate of cooling index. Did they change it ? No, can't rock the boat of wrong history.
Sorry, this is just a pet-peeve of mine as I am sick and dateless on new years eve.
Now my favorite trick: Dad says they used to burn corncobs under the tractor or truck when it got too cold in the old days. Now that is living on the edge!
