When living in the Midwest with temperatures getting 90 below zero with wind chill I had to remove the battery each night to keep it from freezing. With a froozen battery your only get about 5 seconds of cranking power before it died. I had a 48 jeep truck with a 330 Olds and the T-90 transmission/TC using SAE 140 gear oil. If I didn't leave it in neutral after I parked it - forget about putting it in neutral in the morning. With the right antifreeze ratio and oils for the condition, an engine will run at any temperature.
