yeah thats been exactly my experience. I look for drill bits with a hex shape, or something like that for the keyless type chuck to hold on to, I used to work construction with my dad [electrical, what a pain] and had good and bad experiences with both types of chucks. the worst part is losing your key and trying to find it in the tool and garbage mess on the worksite, especially under a deadline(can you say stress??), or having to hold onto a cold metal key to put a cold bit into a cold metal chuck in the middle of winter in a house withno gloves, no power, and in the dark! Drilling grade 8 bolts make my Jacobs keyless slip easily when I use smooth shaft bits, and if your doing automotive with it you'll be drilling hard steel! so get the keyless, then get some different bits that'll give the chuck something to grab onto and you shouldn't have too much trouble with the keyless. my 2 cents good luck, Jason
