I still don't understand why the rotating u-joint cares if it is offset vertically and horizontally. All the u joint cares about is the overall angle. There are a lot of newer u-joint designs that can take the offset. Do you research and you will find that several driveshaft manufactures can accomadate this design. However, you will pay more for the driveshaft than you would to connvert to a centered rear diff, which is still the best option!
