All very good points there Paul.
Also make sure you have a way to kill it fast (shut down the fuel) when you first start it. The rack could be stuck and when it starts its gonna climb in RPM's and fast. It will go like a bottle rocket and you know what a bottle rocket does at the end of its flight! BOOM!
A friend of mine had a fast surprise on a Detroit in an old Dart oil field truck a while back. He was ready for it and killed the fuel.
