Emergency Brake

Any preferences out there for cable-pull vs. lever for setting the e-brake? I have a '53 B3 Power Wagon that seems to have a factory cable with t-handle, mounted under the dash just inside the driver's door. The cable has had it, and I have a New Old Stock olive drab lever handle I think would look better and work better. I value the opinions in this forum, so please comment.
