By flipping the rims your moving the weight of the truck further from the centerline of the tire. This will cause considerably more stress to be applied to the moving parts especially the wheel bearings and king pin bushings/bearings. It's the same effect that causes wheel bearing failure in street rods and low riders with reversed rims.
