Hi All,

I am adapting an NP540 tranny to fit into my 1957 FF PW. It has a large drum that attaches to the output yoke with 4 bolts. The drum was for the E-brake setup on the original truck that the tranny was out of. I am going to use the E-brake on the PW transfer case. Can I remove the drum on the output yoke?? Is the drum used for balance of the tranny? Support of the output yoke?
I fell it will be OK to remove, but wanted some feedback first.
