To anyone who put in an alternator in a PW

WDX type truck. The main red wire gets hooked to the altenator. OK
Do the rest of the harness get connected to the voltage regulator on the fire wall?
Have a new harness, but it was set up for the generator, not the 6 volt high output low cut in / alternator that I bought. Thanks all
