When I moved from Fort Hood, Texas, back to Lincoln, NE, the "Zebra Truck" (see Paul Cook's posted photo below! 1978 M-880) I wished I'd have had a camera, or at least stopped by a scale house somewhere along the trip. (Then again, maybe not, I would have probably had to pay a fine!!) It was towing a 1975 Jaguar XJ6C (about 4,000#s, Jags aren't little cars, the weight helps with the ride) the Jag was loaded with stuff, the bed of the truck held my weight set (400#s of weights) a small block chevy 350 and 350T tranny (later to go in the Jag) several boxes of river rocks (...don't ask, it was a wife thing), the tool box was loaded with tools and chains, the poor truck had bald tires, and we headed north on a wing and a prayer. That truck never even labored taking off from a dead stop!!! Amazed me that it just motored right out like it did everyday on my way back and forth to work, no obvious load stress. I was impressed for a 70's truck, and not a flat fender!
If you have to move; use a real truck!!!
