My wife and I went up to Kaslo, BC for a well-needed but short weekend away. We took a drive up North along the Kootenay Lake, over to Trout Lake, then to Nakusp, New Denver, then back to Kaslo. On a minor highway, more like a log truck route, I passed a W500, probably '65, and stopped to look. I met the owner who said he used to mine with it, hauling 6 tons of ore down the hill. He said he couldn't afford to keep it and couldn't afford to sell it. He says it starts every winter whenever he needs it. If anyone is interested in trying to buy it, it's North of a town called Meadow Creek, on the way to Trout Lake. Well used and well worn, but solid and seems to be all there. Sorry, no pictures. I wasn't sure if the owner would have appreciated me hauling out a camera. He seemed a little eager to be left alone. JH
