I need some advice from the PW veterans here.
I've wanted a PW for at least ten years, now, but life hasn't allowed it. Now that it's possible, I need to know what a good price might be for the truck I'm considering:
It's a '48 B1PW that's been completely restored, mostly with NOS parts. Body, motor, tranny, transfer, differentials, wiring, brakes, upholstery, etc, etc, have all been carefully restored to like-new condition by an experienced PW mechanic. All quality work - the truck seems perfect except that it's a flatbed, which isn't my preference at all (the original bed was beyond repair). I'm willing to pay good money for the truck, since I know I would never have the time to do the resto work myself. My time's too valuable. I've got enough time and mechanical experience to maintain it carefully, though.
I know it may be a stupid question, but I'd like to ask for some opinions on a fair price for a truck like this. I want to reward the guy for such careful, good work.
Also, does the flatbed make it much less valuable? I'm assuming it does, but how much less?
