Hey Herb - Nice pics, but load time takes forever because of Bitmap images (.bmp) - and I'm using a 56k modem. I saved your pics & they save as 4, 5 & 6 million bytes each - ouch !!! Also, the last two pics don't load.
Most pics you see on the web, Joe's site, my site & email are JPEG (.jpg) - very compressed & universal.
If the pic loads that I linked - it's about 85,000 bytes. And that can be considered rather large for a JPEG. Text requires detail, but a straight truck pic can be in the 10 - 25k range with good detail & image size. Scan at 80 DPI & compress at least 25% - 33%.
Also useful are "thumbnails" - miniature versions the visitor can click on to get the full-sized image.
Sorry to bore everyone with this - but I hear lots of questions as more folks are getting scanners & digital cameras.
Just trying to help.
