Depending where on the block you freeze plug is located it maybe a bitch to replace without removing the engine.
A popular alternative is to install a block heater which is fastened in place with a screw type internal expanding wing nut device. It is far easier to install witih just good gasket sealer on the O-ring and a ratchet drive.
And if you live up North, it can always be plugged in for the Winter months.
....but unfortunetaly I can't give you the exact size...
