The proper way to get a accurate compressioin reading is is to do it when the engine is warmed up and throttle is fully opened (and all plugs removed). Getting compression readings in the nineties on a cold engine isn't to bad. TM 9-8030 states if the compression falls below 90psi (on a warm engine) & the lowest reading isn't within 10% of the highest, then you should be concerned. If your oil pressure is good then you shouldn't be up for a rebuild for awhile.
