Recapped 1100-16 Michelins?

Memory Lane time again. I recall seeing a photo in the PWA within the last 2 years of Bud Beschinen's M-43 with what looked to be 1100-16 Michelins recapped with a highway tread. Did Bud recap his 1100-16's? And if so, how does he like them? My dead-end quest for a highway or all-season tread 900-16 has lead me to consider recapping some 1100-16 carcasses with a nice highway tread. Any thoughts or input? Thanks again, FLC.
