Braden winch identification

Can anyone tell me how to tell the difference between the MU-2 8000 lb. winch and the 10,000 lb winch offered in 1958. Was the 10,000 lb winch the only winch offered then or could you also get the 8,000 lb in 1958 and on. All clues in determining the year of my truck.
