This is what I found on the internet about the ratings of a 5 ton 6X6 Truck.
5-TON 6X6
DUMPTRUCKS, WATER TRUCKS, WRECKERS, CARGO & FLATBED TRUCKS.
Specs

Engine (GAS R6602 Continental)
Diesel
(ENDT-673 Mack) 240 H.P.
(LDS-465 White) 180 H.P.
(NHC-250 Cummings) 250 H.P.
5-speed direct or overdrive transmission
Power Steering
2-speed transfer case
1100 x 20 military tires
24 v electrical system
GVW 48,000
Net weight 16,000

If this is right, then is the Legal Load carrying capasity 32,000 lbs or 16 tons?
