Why an aftermarket regulator??
The (M35, M151 and other) military 25amp solid state regulator is a direct replacement for the original mechanical unit and is reasonably priced by most dealers and on Ebay. There are also higher rated ones available if you have an uprated electrical system...
(I'm running one in my M38 since I had already sold all my spare M37 mechanical regulators when the M38's died...)
