I work for Boeing as a systems engineer- more of a paper pusher than anything else. My father (82) retired was a tool and die maker for about 40 years. He was raised during the Depression Era and served in the South Pacific during WWII. I admire so much the people and values they carry. Sad that they are passing away so quickly now. I am really disheatend by what many of my coworkers value and strive for. Most at best tollerate my discussion on trucks and such while others are clearly disinterested and see no value in old iron. When I see any old machine especially heavy construction equipment rusting away, I want to bring it home. I have a passion for cable operated excavators especially back hoes though I have never operated one. I am a blue collar person trapped in a white collar world I guess.
