It was a great time on and off the trail. It was a little wet and a little snowy but not enough to dampen the trip. Met Ted from Lewiston ID and saw Marty and John again.
I really ran into some rain on the way home Sunday. Learned something about my truck and rain. When traveling at 60+ MPH water is forced up under the lower edge of the windshield and stays there until you slow down. When you take a corner to the left or right the water tends to come up over the end of the dash and onto the floor as it sloshes back and forth under the winshield frame. I did have a good size towel on the front seat with me.
My wife followed me in our truck and camper as we moved around this weekend. She could not believe how many people did a double take after I went by them. Apparently they caught me out of the corner or their eye and turned back to see what they "missed". We parked the carryall in the small town of Leavenworth on the way home while we ate lunch. The alarm chirped constantly as people came up to look inside and bumped it. It was interesting to watch a goup of 6 people back up in unison after one of them bumped it. They stayed to look at it but did not get as close.
Anyone want a 41 WWII military chev truck? A guy stopped me and asked if I wanted to buy it. I have seen it sitting off Hwy 2 near leavenworth several times this summer. He is putting it on Ebay soon.
We saw a large bull elk running after it harem just after we left Cle Elum. He seemed to be quite upset. There may have been a second bull that was not in sight.
