Todd,
1939 Dodge trucks are a breed onto themselves, they have different stainless trim, different Dodge badges (they should be curved and located just below the ram hood ornament, you have the later hood), one year only door latches, different interior trim colors, and different dash details.
You are better off selling this thing as it is then trying to make it look like a 39.
Engine and tranny are similar to PWs, and the brakes are somewhat the same in style, but not size.
Someone like Nollie is a better person to answer repair questions, I don't fix the big trucks, I like stuff that fits in my garage.
It looks to be a 1 1/2 ton, and as such you could take a set of 41-47 1 1/2 ton front fenders, and nose, add them to the truck, and sell it as a 44-45. But that sounds like a lot of work, and for most collectors, this is a parts truck for their 1/2 to 1 ton truck.
Maybe I am wrong on price, but the few I have watched on E-bay and other places have just not brought much money in an as found condition. A restored one would bring more of course, but I don't know how much.
Good luck!
Eric
